A Georgian survivor.
A wonderful early 19th century antique woven pearl, and seed pearl brooch.
Backed on mother of pearl frame with 15ct (minimum) gold pin, hinge and catch.
These woven pieces are becoming increasingly rare.
The complexity of the weaving and the sheer number of pearls used to make this gem is quite breathtaking.
Natural horse tail hair twine was used to bind the pearls to the backing plate.
Size: Diameter of brooch 54 mm (over 2 inches)
The pearl hanging combined with the brooch gives a length of 90 mm
