9 carat gold modernist set Blue John pendant together with a hayseed design 9ct gold 20 inch chain.

Blue John is a unique type of Fluorite (calcium Flouride) which has only been found in a few locations in Derbyshire near Castleton.

Today it is only mined in limited quantities from the world famous Blue John Cavern and nearby Treak Cliff Cavern.

Blue John is defined by its striking purple banding on a paler violet to violet white ground.

This is an appealing modernist design pendant of modified pear shape 26.3 x 12.8 mm.

Full 9ct gold hallmark to back, Sheffield 2003 with maker's mark ASD.

Together with a hayseed design 20 inch length chain of good weight.

Total weight is 5.7 grams.

Cleaned and ready for wear.

Good all round condition with only light surface marks to gem.
